The 2024-2025 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now open. Anyone applying to college this year is encouraged to fill it out. In addition, financial aid professionals are encouraging students and parents to create an FSA ID before they submit the FAFSA. If you already have an FSA ID, please use your existing account instead of creating a new one.

Below is the link to the FAFSA PowerPoint that SUNY published in November 2023. If you have any specific questions about the FAFSA now or when you're filling it out, please contact the financial aid office of a college that you're considering attending. Also, Herkimer College generally has workshops where any senior and/or parent can complete the FAFSA and TAP form right there with their financial aid staff members' support. Students don't have to apply to Herkimer College to attend these workshops.
